Hello everyone!!!! Finally managed to tie down Warwick Volunteers and I'm very pleased to announce that anyone who wants to can come and teach Netball in local primary schools. We'll be going in pairs to assist the teachers with training sessions, and the co-ordinator's hoping each pair can teach a team of year 3 and 4s who've never played before, then they'll come to campus for a mini-tournament. It will be an hour a week in Term 2, and Warwick Volunteers will pay transport costs. The schools have training on different days, so I'll match the schools to when you're free. I need to get a list of people who are interested asap because CRB checks take 6 weeks to come (!), and we need the checks before we break up for Christmas. Obviously it should be a lot of fun and great for the old CV but please only give me your name if you definitely want to do it because they don't want the teachers to be stuck with all these year 3 and 4s and no one to teach them!! Anyone can get involved, regardless of what team they're on etc. If you're up for it, please email me your name and uni number to J.R.Whalley@warwick.ac.uk I'll pass it on to Warwick Volunteers and they'll email you the CRB form. Hey Girls, I''ve got a couple of texts so just to clarify, training for everyone begins today in the main hall 6-7pm. (BUSA players remain until 7.30pm because we have matches the next day.) Todays session will consist of working on fitness and then straight into games so we can get up to speed with playing like a team! If you can''t make practice then you should be informing your captain! If you haven''t met your team captain yet then you should let myself or Rachel Strickland know! I hope everybody has joined the netball club through the warwick sport pages, i''ll be checking at practice to make sure you''re all insured to play! So please do it! It''s for yours and clubs benefit! (And i''ll get told off :( ) Hope to see you all there! xxxxxxxx

Hi girls! Just to say that the 4th team has changed its name to the League Teams as it is easier to think about it this way as we currently have 3 teams which play in the Coventry Netball League. If you are a part of the League Teams please join the new and exciting facebook group I have just created, called ''University of Warwick Ladies League Teams'' (catchy I know)! As it is easier to stay in contact this way. All the teams and fixtures are on there so please look asap. If you are not on the list of teams please let me know asap and I will recitfy the situation. It is important to attend training this week as vital information will be given out and it will be a nice oppurtunity to get used to your new team mates! In addition to the training session for everyone on Tuesday, there is a session for league team players only which will commence Wednesdays 2-4pm at Westwood outside courts. As I am sure not many of you freshers will know exactly where that is I will meet people at 1:50pm. Walk from the Sports Centre towards University House, go past University House and you will find a road and a pedestrian crossing I will see you the other side of the pedestrian crossing! Hi everyone, I will be giving out kit order forms tommorow at training 6-7.30pm in the main sports hall, so please come along to train and also get the form. I will also be bringing kit to show everyone what it will be like tomorrow. I have posted the form on the forum on the netball website just in case anyone can''t make it tommorow. Hi ladies, Thankyou for the turnout last night, sooo much fun! Next week is a VERY IMPORTANT CIRCLE. Its adoptions week, for freshers this is your week to shine! All sports teams have adoptions, and theres nothing to worry about! I only ask you make a huge effort with your fancy dress!!! Fresh: GEEKS 2nd years: Support Staff 3rd Years: Teachers It will take place at the CRYFIELD PAVILLION (behind cryfield, up the hill at the roundabout near the back of rootes) at 7.30pm! There could be a time change if there''s a game! We will meet those who want to outside cost cutter at 7.15 promt to guide you up there! There will be penalities for latecomers and poor effort for fancy dress, and awards for the best effort! I have some really good games planned out, so hope you can all come! Hey Girls! (me again) Thank you all for your emails, you''re definitely keeping me on my toes and reminding me off all the information I''ve forgotten to keep you updated with! Normal training will resume in week 3. Unfortunately at this stage I''m unsure whether it will be in our normal training practice slot on Tuesday 6-7.30pm in the main hall (all girls welcome) or whether normal training (for non BUSA members only) will begin instead on the Wednesday afternoon 2-4pm on the Westwood outdoor games courts! For now girls, if you assume that your first practice session won''t be until the Wednesday, on Friday I will know for definite whether there will also be a training session on Tuesday and shall suitably update this post if necessary! Tuesday training is for all members of the netball club (so if you still haven''t joined yet please do so now!) Wednesday is catered specifically for beginners and the competitive teams competing in the local league. Attendence to the Wednesday session isn''t compulsory but your commitment is strongly recommended as your participation is taken highly into account when selecting teams especially for our amazing inter-university tournament that takes place in the second term as there is usually more players than teams!
